Vikings favorite Rollo, played by British actor Clive Standen will return in season 5. With the first half of the season only two episodes away from finishing, its only a matter of time before we get to see Rollo again.

The last time we saw Rollo was on the return of Bjorn’s venture to the Mediterranean. Rollo, who is now the Duke of Normandy, departed the Viking fleet in France. That was the last time we saw him. Do you have any theories on how he will fare in season 5? 

Creator of the drama, Michael Hirst, recently spoke to the media about  the return of our fan-favorite Rollo. You’ll want to read this. Read what he said below: 

“Who wants to lose Rollo completely? It was always in the back of my mind to bring him back and I do bring him back, and in a totally unexpected way with some unexpected revelations. Fans should be pleased to see him again and we had to work with Clive’s other commitments, but he was very, very keen to come back. These early pilgrims, the first cast that I had, I obviously love them and they were with me for season after season. I love their characters and it’s always painful to lose them, so I will always grasp the opportunity to bring them back if it’s realistic and it works. It was great to bring Clive back.”

Clive Standen is also more than excited to see the fans’ reaction for the return of Rollo, he’s given us some huge teasers too, saying ‘all bets are off’ as well as more. Read what he told  TVGuide.com below:

“Nearly every season, [creator] Michael Hirst has allowed me to reinvent this man, and Season 5 is no different, I think when he comes back, all bets are off … You’ll see a very different Rollo.”

He continued to tease Rollo’s return to us:

“It’s going to be explosive, but not in the ways that you’d expect.”
