Kangana Ranaut took aim at Mahesh Bhatt again, this time she accused the filmmaker of inciting people to commit violent acts. On Sunday, the actress shared an old video of the filmmaker alleging Mahesh Bhatt’s real name is Aslam and asked him not to represent a certain religion after his conversion.
Sharing a series of video clips of Bhatt’s former speech, Kangana wrote, “Mahesh ji casually and poetically incites people to violence. I’m told his (Mahesh Bhatt) real name is Aslam…he got converted to marry his second wife (Soni Razdan)…it’s a beautiful name, why hide it?insisting that Bhatt use his real name.
For the past few years, Kangana has attacked the Bhatt family for one reason or another. Of note, Kangana made her Bollywood debut with Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt’s movie Gangster in 2006. She also won top awards for her role and credited Bhatts for launching her in the industry and said she was here because of them.
In 2019, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel claimed that Bhatt threw a chappal at the actress at the 2006 screening of Woh Lamhe and didn’t allow her to see the preview. In 2020, she accused Bhatt of almost assaulting her when she refused to be part of Dhokha, directed by her daughter Pooja Bhatt. Earlier this year, Kangana slammed Alia Bhatt star Gangubai Kathiawadi and questioned her casting, saying Bhatt’s daughter was the wrong choice.
Work-wise, Kangana is currently filming for her upcoming production Emergency. She shared behind-the-scenes photos from the sets mentioning that the most rewarding job in the world is making movies.
As its title suggests, Emergency concerns the national state of emergency declared by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on June 25, 1975. It lasted until March 21, 1977, when the Janata Party was elected to power in of a historic election. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman. It was written, directed and produced by Kangana under the house production banner Manikarnika films.
