Taj Mahal to reopen on July 6 With Social Distancing, Masks.

Three months after the lockdown, The Taj Mahal and the Red Fort is all set to reopen for tourists on July 6.

The decision was taken by the Union Culture Ministry.

All visitors will have to wear a mask and have to follow proper Social Distancing.

Only 5,000 tourists will be allowed in a day, 2,500 in the morning shift and 2,500 post-lunch.

The symbolic monument which used to gather thousands of visitors daily was extremely empty and deserted.

Small trader and businessmen who were on the verge of unemployment due to lockdown are now happy with the decision to reopen the monument.

It will resume the employment to people associated with the World Heritage Site, including guides, shopkeepers, rickshaw drivers, hotels, etc.

Containment zones around the monument will remain closed.
