On Thursday, Tamil actor and music composer Vijay Antony’s 16-year-old daughter Meera died by suicide. She was reportedly battling depression. Days after her death, Vijay Antony has shared his first statement after daughter Meera’s death on social media. Vijay’s statement is heartbreaking.

The actor’s statement in Tamil is translated as, “All you kind-hearted people, my daughter Meera is very loving and brave. She has now gone to a better and peaceful place devoid of caste, religion, money, envy, pain, poverty, and vengeance. She is still conversing with me.”

Vijay added, “I have died along with her. I have started spending time with her now. Whatever good deeds that I will be doing henceforth on behalf of her, will be initiated by her.”

Reacting to Vijay’s post, fans got emotional. A fan dropped a comment saying, “Stay strong.” Another fan commented, “Really heart breaking sir… my sincere prayers to you & your family sir… Stay strong.” “Life is unfair to good humans,” wrote a fan. Another fan commented, “Meera will definitely be with you, by your side always… peace be with you nd your family.” Another fan wrote, “No words can console, May God give you strength.”

For the uninitiated, Vijay’s daughter was found died at her Chennai home at around 3 am. Vijay rushed her to the hospital, but she declared dead on arrival.

Meera’s death shocked the Tamil film industry. Jayam Ravi, Anirudh Ravichander and others offered their condolences to Vijay and his family. Meera was the elder daughter of Vijay and Fathima. Their second daughter’s name is Laara.
