Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Pandey starrer Dream Girl 2 unveiled its trailer on Tuesday. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Ayushmann reprise the role of the desirable Pooja in the film. Dream Girl 2 is the sequel to the 2019 film Dream Girl. During the trailer launch event, Ayushmann Khuranna opened up about the difficulties he faced while playing the character of Pooja.

When asked one part which was difficult while doing the film, the actor said, “Yaar, yeh puri ki puri film hi bohot difficult thi. Matlab hum 45 degrees Celsius mai shoot kar rahe the. Baki log toh normal shoot kar rahe the, maine toh wig pehni hui thi (This entire film was quite difficult, you know. I mean, we were shooting in 45 degrees Celsius. While others were shooting normally, I had to wear a wig throughout the film).” Ananya Panday teased, “Now you understand what heroines go through.”

Ayushmann continued, “Total respect! I think yeh film karne ke baad auraton ke prati aur respect badh chuki hai meri. Matlab woh ek empathy hoti hai aur jaag chuki hai. Mujhe lagta hai ladko ko kabhi na kabhi try karni chahiye kabhi unke shoes mai kadam rakh kar aur jane ki kya kya beet thi hai unn par (Total respect! I believe that after doing this film, my respect towards women has increased even more. There is a sense of empathy that has awakened within me. I think boys should also try, at some point, to step into their shoes and understand what all they go through).”

Ayushmann wants to be nominated as the ‘best actress’ for Dream Girl 2

With his impeccable sense of humour, Ayushmann shared his wish of winning the best actress award. He said, “Dekho Ekta Ji bohot hi smart producer hai. Unhone hero-heroine dono ki fees ek se hi karwa li hai aur iss baar mai chahta hu mujhe best actress mai nomination mile. Yeh mera ek andhar se ek aspiration hai dream hai (Look, Ekta Ji is a very smart producer. She managed to get both the hero-heroine in the same fee, and this time, I want to receive a nomination for Best Actress. It’s a dream and aspiration deep inside me).” In a parallel universe, we think Ayushmann is pretty deserving of this and has the full right to demand.

Since the trailer has dropped we can’t wait to watch Dream Girl 2. The movie is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The movie is releasing in theatres on 25 August 2023.
