Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala are the one duo that has made us laugh time and again. From Heyy Babbyy to the Housefull movie series, the two have tickled our funny bones. Recently, the actor-producer duo announced Housefull 5, one of the most loved comedy movie franchises of Bollywood. And since the announcement, my excitement to watch the film is raised to the peek. During a recent conversation, Sajid Nadiadwala shared the latest development around the upcoming movie.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Sajid Nadiadwala shared an update on the script. He said, “It’s a lot of fun to make Housefull films because I write those scripts. Even Housefull 5 is written by me. I enjoy writing those over-the-top scenes.” Further adding about why it is difficult to make franchise movies, Sajid said, “After a long day at work, you like to have something spicy and that for me is the Housefull franchise. But franchises are not easy to manage as you can reach the saturation point at any time.”
In addition, he expressed that franchises have the ability to cease at any given moment. As an example, he mentioned the temporary halt of Housefull 4 until Sunday due to its pre-Diwali release. However, as soon as Diwali commenced, the dynamics of the situation completely transformed, leading to a different outcome altogether.

Sajid sharing his excitement said, “It became the biggest film of Akshay Kumar and also the biggest comedy film. I have tried to bring in all elements in the basket for Housefull 5 and I am very excited.”
Sajid reveals the schedule for the shoot
Sajid promised us all that it will bring the laughter riot back, Sajid shared his schedule and plans. He revealed, “We start Housefull 5 from December / January and will be ready for a Diwali 2024 release. Our music sessions begin by November. The script is locked, we have locked our director (Tarun Mansukhani). It’s a huge film and will cross Housefull 4 on the scale front. We plan to surprise everyone with the theme.”
It was also reported that Housefull 5 will bring back the cast of all the parts of the movie, imagine Akshay Kumar dealing with double chaos which means triple laughter. If that happens I am about to lose my mind and get prepared to laugh my heart out.
The movie is said to be released on Diwali next year. Though the cast announcement is not yet done, I am eagerly waiting for it. Tarun Mansukhani will direct the movie.

On the work front, Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming movie Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor directed by Nitesh Tiwari is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on 21 July 2023. Also, he has begun filming for the Kartik Aaryan starrer Chandu Champion.
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar has a bunch of projects lined up. His upcoming movie OMG 2 is set to release on August 11. Furthermore, he has The Great Indian Rescue with Parineeti Chopra and Soorarari Pottru remake with Radhika Madan. He will also star in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Tiger Shroff. In addition, Akshay will star in Hera Pheri 4 and Jolly LLB 3.
