Anil Kapoor has had an illustrious four decades in the Indian film industry. Through this period, the actor has given many iconic and memorable parts which will be etched in Indian cinematic history forever. One of those came with his role of Naren in 1942: A Love Story. July 15, 2023 marks 29 years of the film and the actor celebrated it with a heartfelt note and some unseen pics from the film’s set.

Anil Kapoor on 29 years of 1942: A Love Story

1942: A Love Story starred Anil alongside Manisha Koirala and Jackie Shroff. It told the story of a politician’s son, loyal to British rule, who falls in love with the daughter of a freedom fighter. The film directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra released in 1994 amid much acclaim. Anil’s portrayal of a loving boy was much appreciated.

Marking the film’s 29 years, Anil reflected on his journey from Naren to his villainous act as Shaan in his recent release, The Night Manager. He wrote, “29 years ago I played nicest the best man in the world who only wanted to spread love, and now, 29 years later, I play the baddest man in the world, who spreads chaos and war…I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to play these spectacular roles! From 1942 A love Story to The Night Manager, I’ve sure come a long way!  #29YearsOf1942ALoveStory.”

Along with it, Anil shared a couple of stills from the film as well as some unseen pics from shoot. One of them sees him having a discussion with his director, while another has him sitting with Jackie. The actors look like two cool dudes, sitting with their sunglasses on. There are couple of pictures of him and Manisha full of love and one picture where he is laughing with his director while getting his hair done. These pictures bring back so many memories.

Meanwhile, in the present day Anil is ruling the industry quite strongly. Last year, he gave a solid performance in JugJugg Jeeyo for which he bagged many awards. This year, he showed his villainous side opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in The Night Manager. Up next, he has Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. Next year, he also has Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.
