Sonam Kapoor and husband Anand Ahuja are expecting their first child together. As per reports, a grand Baby Shower was planned in Mumbai for their family and friends. Grandparents-to-be Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor had entrusted Masaba Gupta to design the venue in a Bohemian theme. Sonam Kapoor baby shower was to be held at aunt Kavita Singh’s bungalow, Rockdale, in Bandra. However the function has now been cancelled.

Farah Khan has confirmed the news that Sonam kapoor's baby shower has been cancelled owing to the rise in COVID cases.

Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan confirmed the news to paparazzi. She said, “Sonam’s baby shower has been cancelled and we are going for a lunch instead.”

As reported by sources to ETimes, The Kapoor family was looking forward to the baby shower and had been preparing for it for a while now. Customised hampers had been sent out to various guests invited to the do, to be held at Kavita Singh’s bungalow Rockdale in Bandra. However concerns about COVID surfaced and the family decided to call off the event to avoid any health issues, especially for the mother-to-be and her baby.

Celebrities from Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Rani Mukerji. Sonam’s cousins Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah were to join the celebration.

Sonam and Anand tied the knot in May 2018. They announced their pregnancy in March 2022. The couple had earlier hosted a baby shower in London. Pictures from the event had created a buzz on social media.
