In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the Sherni actress shared how she never backed off despite all the judgment and the inequality she faced. Vidya also opened up about the rejections she faced while starting out as an actress and how she would cry herself to sleep every single night.
Revealing what kept her going during the tough times that she faced while starting out as an actor, Vidya said, "I think I am hopelessly optimistic. Like even when I was going through a lot of rejection down south, way back in 2002-03, I used to go to sleep crying. I used to feel like 'Oh may be I am never going to become an actor. But the next morning I would wake up feeling like, I think the sunrise was enough to give me hope. If I had made to another sunrise, I knew that it meant I have another chance. So no matter what I was going through, I have always had that optimism. I have to say thank you to my parents for that."

Recently, speaking about the pay parity prevalent in Bollywood, Vidya had told Bollywood Bubble, “I am very happy that the percentage of the overall budget that I get equals the percentage of what men get from the overall budget of the film. But the budget of my films is much lower than that of the men. But that gap will be bridged very soon.”
On the work front, Vidya was last seen in Sherni. The film garner good reviews from the critics and fans alike.
