Does Imaginary Have a Post Credits Scene?

The latest Blumhouse horror movie, Imaginary, lands in theaters this week. Directed by Jeff Wadlow, best known for Kick-Ass 2 and Fantasy Island, it follows a demonic plush toy called Chauncey, who manages to go on a Chucky-style killing spree. If you’re wondering whether or not to sit through the credits, let’s learn all about the Imaginary post credits scene.

Imaginary does not have a post credits.

The film releases worldwide this Friday (March 8), and at the time of writing news has emerged on a post credits scene. It also appears that the film hasn’t got a full-fledged scene at the end, but rather a brief audio snippet to round things off. Therefore, you don’t need to wait around for it.

Before this confirmation, it was logical to assume that Imaginary would not have a post credits scene. That’s based off the track record of recent Blumhouse Productions movies. The most recent film was Night Swim in early 2024, which didn’t have a post credits scene. Before that was the box office behemoth Five Nights at Freddy’s. This did have a post credits scene to tease a sequel, but that’s not surprising given it’s based on an existing IP where there are clearly more stories to tell. Lastly we have the much-maligned The Exorcist: Believer, which also didn’t have one.

On balance, then, it seems that Imaginary won’t have a post credits scene. Since most Blumhouse movies are made on fairly low budgets and never guaranteed to make enough money to warrant a sequel, it wouldn’t make sense to tease a follow-up after the credits roll each time.

That’s it for this guide to the Imaginary post credits scene. For more articles like this, check out the South Park Season 27 release date, the Daredevil: Born Again release date, and the Chucky Season 3 Part 2 release date.
