Davey & Jonesie’s Locker Series 1 Episode 2 Recap

Unjust Gems –

When Schneider shows up, they run from him. He grabs the items from their locker and yells for them to wait. They run into Schneider’s room and encounter his many holograms. Schneider explains that the portal is down because they overloaded it with all their jumps. He asks if anyone has been able to contact Schneider 6689. Schneider turns off the holograms so he can answer Jonesie and Davey’s questions. He explains they’re in Universe 2506. Schneider explains that human existence is made up of countless parallel universes. He goes on until he reaches the multiverse. They’re from Universe 6689, but a version of them exists in every other universe. Their copies there ceased to exist once they arrived. Universe 6689 will be frozen until they return.

It’s a protocol forced by MOM. Over the intercom, Emile (Nikko Angelo Hinayo) says President Appreciation will begin in five minutes. Schneider wants Davey and Jonesie to return before anyone realizes they’re not supposed to be there. When Abbott (Kevin Osea) knocks on the door, Schneider urges them to change outfits to fit the rules of the universe. Abbott admits she is loving this when she sees Abbott. They go with Abbott since the President wants to see them. At MOM Headquarters, the Delinquent Acquisition Deputy, Cheryl (Emily Piggford), is busy training. Davey and Jonesie find out that Sierra is the president. They sit down near Sierra before Emile says it’s time to begin the President Appreciation. Everyone begins chanting for Sierra.

Meanwhile, Schneider tries to come up with a plan to send the girls back to their original universe. Davey tells Sierra they want to know how she became the unquestioned ruler of the school. Sierra explains that she overthrew Alexis (Alexa Yaphe) who is stuck in a net nearby. Sierra imposed the order of the Gems so everyone would know their place. Emile mentions the resistance. Mark Shirt (Parker Lauzon) gives Sierra a cold fish stick. She calls for a gem reassignment as punishment. A member of the resistance approaches and squeezes ketchup all over Sierra. Emile jumps in the way to save her. Sierra tells them to do their jobs, catch the infidel, and take her to Gem Re-Education. Davey and Jonesie corner the Orange gem who tells them they’ll never be stopped. The rebel orange student is shocked when Jonesie takes off the gem and it doesn’t explode.

Schneider interrupts and runs off the rebel student. He gets samples of Davey and Jonesie’s DNA for the remote. Schneider believes he can send them home. When they’re alone, Davey and Jonesie talk about the future when they return to their universe. The rebel student invites them to the resistance. Davey wonders if they should topple the dictatorship. Cheryl tries to locate the delinquents. They’re taken to Joyce (Sydney Topliffe) who learns it wasn’t painful to remove the gem. Once she removes her gem, she is ready to fill them in on the plan. Davey and Jonesie quickly realize that their plan isn’t going to work. They go to the gym and begin dancing in protest. Davey’s gem is removed. Emile and the others begin realizing that they’re sheep.

All the kids go nuts while Sierra yells that Davey and Jonesie are dead. Cheryl finds the anomaly and prepares for one last case. Schneider catches up with Davey and Jonesie just in time to see Cheryl nearby. He rushes to get them out of there. They’re taken to the portal which is now working. Davey and Jonesie seem hesitant to go back. When they enter the portal, they get a DNA error. Schneider realizes something is wrong just before Cheryl approaches him. She shoots him and tells him to enjoy GRANDMA’s. The girls come out of the locker and question whether it worked. Schneider admits they don’t know how to send them home.

Davey & Jonesie’s Locker Review

The second episode of Davey & Jonesie’s Locker was a bit better than the first episode because the concept was at least explained to some degree. Some of the ideas are clever and even interesting although they’re not particularly original. The potential is there for an interesting show along the lines of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. It’s also similar to Class of ’07 for some reason.

However, certain issues prevent the series from being great and even good. For starters, Davey and Jonesie are the two main figures who remain the same across multiple universes. For this to work, viewers would need to connect with and care about these characters. That hasn’t happened through two episodes because these two characters and others are so outlandish and snooty.

The dancing tripe doesn’t work either although it at least breaks the monotony for a few minutes. Davey & Jonesie’s Locker is meant to be a comedy, yet there really hasn’t been a humorous moment through two episodes. It’s more of a cringe humor and an annoying humor that some viewers may like. This’ll be a good way to kill a few hours while shutting off your brain but probably little else.

The episode scores a 4 out of 10. Recaps of Davey & Jonesie’s Locker are available on Reel Mockery here. Find out how to support our independent site at this link. Learn more about advertising with us here. Discuss this show and others at the Reel Mockery Forum.
