News Regarding Popular TV Series Won’t Be Returning

With the various streaming services and TV entertainment, in general, one could spend the rest of their life getting caught up or delving into new, exciting shows. Even more impressive, you’d stay truly intrigued the entire way.

With the sheer amount of television shows being released, a simple fact, some will need to go to make room. Yes, a good thing can only carry on for so long before it gets old like a car or a pair of sneakers. On the other hand, there are times when good things die too early. It does seem, the brightest candles burn the fastest and turn into a waxy mess way too soon. Apply this to TV shows and what do you get?

Raising Dion

The streaming universe is chock-full of superheroes today, and unfortunately, there just isn’t enough room for them all. Despite most of the character’s larger-than-life personalities and charisma, some of them just don’t draw the attention needed. That wasn’t necessarily the case with Raising Dion, as fans of the Series were looking more than forward to the upcoming season.

Viewers can probably guess from the name the premises of the series. It follows a Young, budding superhero through the trials and tribulations of childhood as he deals with developing superpowers. Unfortunately, there just wasn’t room for the young star and his supporting cast in the TV universe.

That said, the series was based on the 2015 popular short film and was an excellent experience for (Ja’Siah Young). He got to get his hands all over various aspects of the series.

Over 32 million people tuned into the first season premiere, but the series didn’t continue to draw an audience. There were plenty of opportunities for storylines and intrigue, as the premises of the series was based on struggling single mother Nicole Warren (Alisha Wainwright), as she navigates the murky waters of raising a son with superpowers.

She has her fair share of personal struggles and constantly finds herself morally questioning how best to safely raise her son.

Dion will need some help along the way, but with his budding powers, he is more than capable of handling diverse situations. He has an action-packed, talented young cast alongside him, including the likes of (Michael B Jordan) and (Jason Ritter), but the announcement couldn’t have come at a worse time. It came right at the end of season 2, meaning there will not be a season 3 or proper ending to the show.

Peaky Blinders

To run six successful seasons is nothing short of miraculous these days. However, to have that last and final season followed up with a hit movie is even more impressive. That’s just what Peaky Blinders is offering fans when it concludes with season 6. It’ll be the end of the story arches and the story of the infamous crime boss Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), but creator, Seven Knight will be putting him and his gang of misfits to bed with an upcoming 2023 film.

Purported filming won’t even start until 2023, so it’s going to be a long wait for fans. That said, there is certainly more than enough action to rehash or view for the first time amongst the 6, action-packed seasons.

In addition to this, there have been several announcements regarding other series that revolve around the same time as Tommy and his gang. This era in time is truly fascinating and captured beautifully by film crews.

There is something to be said about such an industrious time where men and women carry themselves with a lot more grace and elegance than anyone could even imagine today. As fans have probably gleaned from the hype, the series is a typical crime drama centered on the mixed Irish and Romani family, the Shelbys. Tommy Shelby is at the head of the table and remains there, although challenged, for the ensuing 6 seasons.

The stage is set in Birmingham, England in the early 1900s, so the show offers a much different look at nefarious acts. The series picks up mere months after the end of the First World War, which Tommy and many of his fellow cohorts are haunted by. Viewers will see plenty of flashbacks of the horrors of war during this time. As a matter of fact, there is a huge emphasis placed on the gang and their political beliefs.

Many undertakings of the Shelby gang will be centered on politics. To add even more whimsical to the series, there was a real-life Shelby gang that creators and writers loosely fell back on. (Cillian Murphy) really showed off his action chops throughout the full series and this garnered the young star many other leadership roles in side projects during the off-seasons of Peaky Blinders.

He also worked alongside an excellent cast of players, including (Paul Anderson) as the wild and sometimes reckless brother Arthur Shelby, (Harry Kirton) dons the role of the youngest Shelby in Finn, and (Sophie Rundle) brings her talent full force with the role as the sole sister.

There are plenty of rough and tough women that make appearances along with other big names like Tom Hardy and Natasha O’Keeffe.

Peaky Blinders Cast

  • Paul Anderson – Arthur Shelby
  • Helen McCrory – Polly Gray
  • Sophie Rundle – Ada Shelby
  • Ned Dennehy – Charlie Strong
  • Joe Cole – John Shelby
  • Finn Cole – Michael Gray
  • Harry Kirton – Finn Shelby
  • Kate Phillips – Linda Shelby
  • Annabelle Wallis – Grace Burgess
  • Aimee-Ffion Edwards – Esme Shelby
  • Tom Hardy – Alfie Solomons
  • Ian Peck – Curly
  • Natasha O’Keefee – Lizzie Stark

The Baby-Sitter Club

Speaking of young, budding talent, it would be hard for any show today to compete with the charismatic cast of this series. This one was inspired by the 80s long-running best-selling book series but evidentially did offer what top show runners were looking for. Even with fan’s appraises, high critic ratings, and a steadily rising viewership, this one ended up on the canceled list after season 2.

The season aired on October 11, 2021, on Netflix and is the perfect example of how any show today is entirely safe. With the ever-growing list of competition, even shows with high ratings and appraise can get cut. The young cast included Sophie Grace (Kristy Thomas), Shay Rudolph (Stacey McGill), Momona Tamada (Claudia Kishi), Malia Baker (Mary Anne Spier), Sophia Red-Gantzert (Karen Brewer), Vivian Watson (Mallory Pike), along with many other were very talented and took their assignments with the utmost seriousness.

The added addition of Alicia Silverstone as (Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer) in a more commanding role certainly didn’t hurt the show any, but it just wasn’t enough to keep the series alive. This one truly was a nice throwback to anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90 during the height of the book series. The series’ storylines follow closely with the books when a group of young female friends starts their very own babysitting business.

Along with juggling school, parents, and everyday life, the series present the opportunity for many intriguing storylines. Unfortunately, this cancellation also came after the airing of season 2, so the best of the show is over and there are no more adventures to look forward to. Maybe it’ll get picked back up or at least get a movie continuation.
