The Films 

Thappad – The Taapsee Pannu starrer Film, which is based on domestic violence. A lady stands firm in voicing for one slap she got on her face in a party and takes away long to prove her womanhood should be respected and not maligned. 

Pink –  Yet another Taapsee Pannu film, which has made its dialogue No Means No popular in the media. It deals with a story of three women who stand against men of mighty and powerful families. They go to the extent of winning their fight despite all the odds coming in their way. 

Angry Indian Goddesses – A film with seven ladies played by Sandhya Mridul, Anushka Manchanda, Amrit Maghera, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Pavleen Gujral, Sarah Jane Dias and Rajshri Deshpande get a different life once they come across an unforeseen occurrence. It is a film that celebrates friendship and womanhood. 

Lipstick Under My Burkha – The film moves around three women and their desires along with their sexuality. It brings you on a journey of how women are seen breaking the hurdles of society in order to achieve their desires.  

English Vinglish – The Sridevi starrer film with a family touch where the difference between a mother and daughter is due to knowing and unknowing of English language. Important issue has been busted with this difference in family worth watching on this big day. 

Web Series 

Girls Hostel – A bunch of young engineering students who face their own issues of career, relationship and others. With an ensemble star cast, the show is all about Live the friendship or enmity and enjoy the love and career ahead.

Bombay Begums – All set to release today on the eve of women’s day, it has a story of a queen in Bombay city played by Pooja Bhatt. It has interesting and unique stories revolving around a lady played by Pooja worth checking on this day on Netflix. 

The Test Case – It is an interesting series with a story of a young Captain Shikha Sharma played by Nimrat Kaur. She is the first woman to be recruited in the Indian Army’s Special Forces unit, which showcases the physical and mental struggle for making the presence felt in an all-male group of soldiers. 

The Trip – The series revolves around four girls played by Shweta Tripathi, Malika Dua, Lisa Haydon and Sapna Pabbi. Their life changes after this trip as they take it in crazy bachelorette in Thailand. The show has loads of madness and fun worth checking this series on this big day.
