Reggie Talks About Staggered Super Mario Run Release On Android

Nintendo launches their new mobile game Super Mario Run in just four days for IOS, but will be staggering the release for the Android platform. Nintendo of America’s President Reggie Fils-Aime told Bloomberg why this is the case:

“In order to develop the game and make it as special, we had to focus on one platform and we decided to focus on iOS, iPhone, [and] iPad,” Reggie told Bloomberg. “And so, in the future, it is coming to Android, we’ve made that commitment and something that will happen in 2017.”

When asked whether the company is alienating Android users by launching the games with initial exclusivity to IOS he advised, “We don’t think so because our focus is going to be to bring it on to all of those devices as quickly as possible. For us, it’s all about making sure that the experience is great, it’s making sure that from a consumer standpoint that they’ve got access to this game. We see the market as all two billion plus smart devices out there. So, certainly, it will be coming to the Android platform as soon as we can.”
