Sanrio has opened the 39th annual Sanrio Character Ranking Poll on April 11, 2024. People can head to the poll's website to cast their votes, and the site is also available internationally in English, Korean, and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified). The company recommends accessing the website with the latest versions of Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge browsers on smartphones and PCs.

A total of 90 characters are available to vote for in this poll. People will simply need to click the vote button for each Character to register their votes. While they can vote for multiple characters, the site will only allow one vote per day for each character from the same person.

Sanrio's Japanese blog post provides more context to the poll's history. Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, and Kuromi had filled the top three spots in the previous two years. Cinnamoroll had even dominated the first ranking spot for four consecutive years. However, Sanrio is speculating that Hello Kitty could make a comeback as the character celebrates her 50th anniversary in 2024. The 2024 poll also marks the first appearance of Petapetaminilian.

The 2024 Sanrio Character Ranking poll is open until May 26, 2024, at 5 PM JST (4 AM ET). Sanrio will announce the final results at the Sanrio Fes 2024 on June 16, 2024.
