‘Halloween Ends’ Movie Summary

The summary below contains spoilers.
A year after the events in Halloween Kills, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell) is babysitting a young boy named Jeremy (Jaxon Goldberg) while his parents go out to eat. Jeremy pulls a prank on Corey and locks him inside the attic. Corey is forced to kick the door of the attic open which accidentally knocks Jeremy over the staircase railing. Jeremy falls two stories and lands in front of his returning parents, Theresa and Roger Allen (Candice Rose and Jack William Marshall). Jeremy dies, and Corey is accused of intentionally killing Jeremy. Corey is ultimately acquitted.

Three years later, Haddonfield, Illinois still shows the scars of Michael Myers’ (James Jude Courtney) last killing spree in 2018. After killing Karen Nelson (Judy Greer), Laurie Strode’s (Jamie Lee Curtis) daughter, Michael simply vanished and has not been seen in four years. Laurie now lives with her granddaughter Allyson Nelson (Andi Matichak) in a new house and is writing a memoir. Allyson now works as a nurse and often gets into arguments with Laurie about her life choices.

Nearby, the once studious Corey is working at his stepfather’s (Rick Moose) rundown salvage yard. Corey has become the town pariah due to his involvement in the death of Jeremy. One day Corey is accosted by some bullies (Michael Barbieri, Destiny Mone, Joey Harris, and Marteen) and is injured. Laurie observes the interaction and takes Corey to the doctor’s office where Allyson works for treatment. Allyson and Corey share a moment that hints at romantic possibilities.

Not long after, Allyson attends a Halloween party with Corey. Corey is confronted by Theresa Allen at the party about Jeremy’s death. The confrontation throws off Corey and he ends up arguing with Allyson. As a result, Corey leaves the party early and runs into the bullies for a second time while walking on the street. This time, the bullies throw Corey off the bridge. A dazed Corey finds himself in the sewers nearby. Once there, he finds Michael, who has apparently been hiding in the sewer for the last four years. A weak Michael initially begins choking Corey, but ultimately lets the man go. Corey crawls out of the sewer and is threatened by a homeless man. The two men struggle, and Corey stabs the man to death and then runs away.

I’ve said goodbye to my boogeyman, but the truth is, evil doesn’t die. It changes shape. Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis)

Not long after, Corey tries to apologize to Allyson, and the two go on a second date to dinner. Their dinner is interrupted when Allyson’s over-bearing ex-boyfriend, police officer Doug Mulaney (Jesse C. Boyd), interrupts their dinner to harass them both. Corey is angered by the incident and later lures Doug into the sewer system where Corey found Michael. Still present, a weakened Michael kills Doug to Corey’s delight.

At the same time, Allyson has trouble at work when she is passed over for a promotion at work in favor of a less qualified nurse (Michele Dawson) who is sleeping with the doctor (Michael O’Leary). Corey is upset at the slight against Allyson and that night, he and Michael go to the doctor’s home. Corey kills the doctor while Michael kills the nurse. Afterwards, an insistent Corey convinces Allyson to leave Haddonfield with him so they can begin their lives anew. Laurie begins to become suspicious of Corey. Laurie has a conversation with Roger Allen and realizes that Michael’s evil has been transferred to Corey.

On Halloween, Laurie finds Corey sleeping at the former Allen house in the spot where Jeremy died. Corey appears to be struggling, and Laurie offers to help him in exchange for his promise to stay away from Allyson. Corey is offended by Laurie’s offer and blames Laurie for the events that have happened in Haddonfield. Corey tells her that if he cannot have Allyson, no one will. Not long after, Corey returns to the sewers and successfully fights a weak Michael for his mask. Afterwards, Corey goes on a murderous rampage as Michael – killing all the bullies, his own overbearing mother (Joanne Baron), and a disc jockey (Keraun Harris) that insulted him earlier.

Back at her house, Laurie fakes a suicide attempt to lure Corey to come after her. When he comes to kill her, she shoots him, and he falls down the stairs. A vindictive Corey then stabs himself in the neck to frame Laurie for his death. Allyson comes upon the scene and assumes the worst. She leaves and Michael arrives. Michael reclaims his mask from the wounded Corey and then kills the younger man. Michael attacks Laurie who defends herself. Ultimately, Laurie kills Michael by slitting both of his arms and slashing his throat. Laurie takes Michael’s body to the salvage yard followed in a procession by the other residents of the Haddonfield. Laurie loads Michael’s body into an industrial shredder and destroys him.

In the aftermath, Allyson ultimately decides to leave Haddonfield for parts unknown. Laurie finishes her memoir and begins a romance with Deputy Frank Hawkins (Will Patton).
