I’ve always loved this image.  During a recent Comedy Intensive, Shah G. sent it to me saying, “Mood after just one week of our intense schedule (my Brain and scripts look like those feet).” And I agree with her — I’ve always thought the image encapsulates the craziness of actor training.  But I don’t think it’s so much that your feet (read: psyche, brain, heart) end up ruined and scarred, as much as they emerge stronger and much improved.  Like when you go to the gym and you work out a muscle, you damage it, but as a result of that damage, it is enhanced and augmented.
