Even though it's been a very strange year which has changed how we've lived our lives and how we've watched movies, it's now time to celebrate the films that have entertained, enlightened and moved us these past twelve months or more with the 93rd annual Academy Awards.
This awards season one of Daily Billboard's favourite feature films has been the inventive and compelling Promising Young Woman starring Carey Mulligan.
Written and directed by Emerald Fennell (who you'd recognise from playing Camilla Parker Bowles in The Crown), the film is part romance, part revenge thriller and part social commentary.
The movie follows Carey Mulligan's med school dropout 'Cassie', who was traumatised when her best friend killed herself after she was sexually assaulted, leading her to seek revenge against those involved and other potential rapists. Reconnecting with a former classmate she begins to heal and love again.
