Dr. Seuss' The Grinch movie billboards...

Bah humbug, here comes Dr. Seuss's The Grinch to ruin your holiday season once again, or at least try to.
Somehow this green critter based on the 1957 children's book, How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, always has the opposite effect, even when it's the third screen adaptation of the story.
The last time we saw the dastardly Christmas-hating creature on the cinema screen he was played by Jim Carrey in prosthetic makeup in 2000's live-action version.
This time the fun comes in 3D computer-animation courtesy of Illumination Entertainment, known for their Despicable Me and Minions films, Sing and The Secret Life of Pets.
In this animated feature, The Grinch (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch) hatches a mean plan to ruin the festive season for the residents of Whoville with the help of his faithful dog 'Max' and overweight reindeer 'Fred'.
These clever, contextually relevant and special billboards were snapped catching the attention of passersby along the Sunset Strip, Fairfax Avenue, Van Nuys Boulevard, Lankershim Boulevard, La Brea Avenue, La Cienega Boulevard, Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard, Westwood Boulevard, Wilshire Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard from October 15 to November 3, 2018.
The copy in the ads really resonates with people living (wherever they're from), driving and trying to work (as actors) in L.A.

Plus even better, all the traffic specific ads can easily be tailored for whatever other major city these billboards appear in.
Fans of The Grinch can also check out these Universal Studios Grinchmas billboards and these screen-used costumes, props and models from the live-action version of The Grinch on display.

And for more of Dr. Seuss' creations you can also enjoy these billboards for The Lorax movie from 2012.

Plus for more examples of this kind of eye-catching lifting billboard gimmick, be sure to also check out this sophomore season billboard for Luke Cage, this Ferdinand move billboard and this billboard for The Haunting Hour.
Even though The Grinch revels in other people's misery, Daily Billboard is sure he'll be putting lots of smiles on faces this holiday season.
