A Futile and Stupid Gesture film billboards...

This January Netflix is chronicling the history of the National Lampoon magazine and one of its three founder, Doug Kenney, in the film A Futile and Stupid Gesture.
The biopic starring Will Forte as the brilliant and troubled Doug is based on the 2006 book of the same name by Josh Karp and set during the 1970s and 80s, recounting the rise and fall of the National Lampoon business empire and how its success and influence changed comedy forever.

The ad creative with a gun to Will Forte's head was first snapped along the Sunset Strip on January 15, then the followup billboards were captured further east along Sunset Boulevard and above Fairfax Avenue on January 23, 2018, and the next day.
Fans of Will Forte can also enjoy all these billboards for The Last Man on Earth, whilst for another similar ad design be sure to check out these movie billboards for The Ides of March.
Let's just hope watching this Netflix original comedy won't prove to be a futile and stupid gesture on the viewer's part.
