Sivakarthikeyan born in Thiruveezhimizhalai near Thiruvarur and his parents are G. Doss and Raji, father as a inspector and mother as housewife. He did schooling at Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Tiruchirappalli. His grandfather is winner of a padmashree award for Nadaswaram, Sivakarthikeyan also learnt in his childwood. He has a sister Gowrimanohari, she was a doctor in Tiruchirapalli. He started Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering at JJ College of Engineering. 

In mean time Shivakarthikeyan interest in cultural programmes, often he performs mimicry and film spoofs. After, his friends convinced to participate Star Vijay TV competition for Kalakka Povathu Yaaru , and he won the show. It continues to appears on TV shows, a dance-reality Jodi Number One Season 3 pairing up with Aishwarya. And Boys Vs Girls Season 1 and 2. He got opportunities to host several shows STAR Vijay Airtel Super Singer, promotional film events5th and 6th editions of the Vijay Awards.

Sivakarthikeyan attempted in films for a role in Vazhakku Enn 18/9, but this try was unsuccessful. He appeared in short films Atlee's Mugapputhagam, Identity, Kurahl 786and 360°. He also completed MBA in Chennai. Sivakarthikeyan married his cousin Arthi on 27-August-2010 and has a baby girl Aeradhana was born on 22-October-2013.
