The Star Trek actress has opened up about delivering the twins prematurely via emergency C-section.

“The boys came at 32 weeks,” Saldana shared. “They found protein in my urine; my platelets crashed. I didn’t qualify for an epidural, so I delivered under general anesthetic. I didn’t even meet them until a day later.”

After their birth, the twins spent time in the NICU.

“Looking back, I think the boys were 3 or 4 months old, and one morning I woke up with just this flood of emotions,” said the actress. “[My husband] had them, too, and we were able to have our deconstruction session in the bathroom while they were napping, to say to each other, ‘Holy s—, did we come close to it all changing forever?’ We allowed ourselves to have a moment of ‘poor us.’ And that was it. Then somebody cried, and it was ‘Got to go!’ ”

“When it comes to work, I never get tired. But with personal failures, I have thought, ‘This is too hard.’ When my marriage ended, it was not easy to find forgiveness,” J.Lo admitted. “It wasn’t the dream that I had hoped for, and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment, and anger. But Marc is the father of my children, and that’s never going away. So, I have to work to make things right. And that is, by far, the hardest work I do.”
