Dingdong Dantes and John Arcilla topbill A Hard Day, the only action movie entry in Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this year. It was originally intended for the first Metro Manila Summer Film Festival in 2020 but the event was cancelled due to the pandemic. Now more than a year after, the movie is named as one of the official eight entries of the MMFF 2021.

A Hard Day is the Filipino remake of the 2014 South Korean action-thriller of the same title. Directed by Law Fajardo for VIVA Films, the movie also stars Janno Gibbs, Al Tantay, Meg Imperial, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, Lou Veloso, Arvic Tan and AJ Muhlach.
Will this movie give Dingdong his third MMFF Best Actor award? He had a back-to-back win in 2011 and 2012 for Segunda Mano and One More Try, respectively.
He is not the only one award-winning in his movie, though. John Arcilla recently won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the 78th Venice Film Festival for his performance in the movie On the Job: The Missing Eight. Will he get his second MMFF acting award after being Best Actor in 1996 for Mulanay?
The 47th MMFF opens December 25, 2021.
