The Goblin Song number one on iTunes

The BBC has released the Goblin Song from the Doctor Who Christmas special, The Church on Ruby Road. The single, which is raising money for Children in Need, has topped the iTunes singles chart, beating the 'Queen of Christmas' herself, Mariah Carey.

The musical number reminded me of Labyrinth, starring David Bowie as the Goblin King.

Russell T Davies, returning showrunner said: "We're releasing this as an early Christmas present for everyone. And if you want to see how the Doctor and Ruby escape from the Goblin King at the end of the song, you'll have to watch on Christmas Day!"

The Goblin Song, composed by fan-favourite composer Murray Gold, is available to stream now on Apple Music and Spotify.

The Doctor Who Christmas special, The Church on Ruby Road, will be aired at 5.55pm on BBC One on Christmas Day in the UK, and available at the same time worldwide on Disney+.
