With The Walking Dead franchise looking to take us on more adventures with additional spin-off’s producer Greg Nicotero likes the possibility of taking us to cold countries, where we would find frozen zombies.
When Nicotero spoke to FANDOM he spoke about the possibility of bringing frozen zombies to the franchise, and even revealed that he’s written some webisodes in the post that features them. Read what he said: “The one thing that the comic book does great [is] when they introduce the cold weather and the winter.” He said. “I had even written some webisodes that took place with a frozen zombie herd. And I think that our hopes are — my hopes — would be that we would get into an entirely different location, like a cold weather scenario. Because frozen zombies are f–ing awesome. Until they thaw out and then you’re screwed. Because they would freeze and thaw out, and they would be fine.”

Could it be that we will see frozen Walkers in another spin-off? We have already seen the success of Fear The Walking Dead which, in terms of ratings, is out-shining the main series at the moment. When Greg Nicotero was asked about expanding The Walking Dead franchise further around the world, he seems to find the idea attractive and it may be something we could see in a potential spin-off.
“We’ve done a good job of allowing our audience to populate the US and I think there’s a lot more opportunities outside of the US for a zombie show.” Nicotero said.

In past weeks a lot has happened behind-the-scenes of the drama. We have seen The Walking Dead strike a season 9 renewal, with a brand new showrunner, with AMC taking bold moves and taking Scott Gimple away from that position and making him Chief Content Officer at AMC.
The new showrunner will be former co-executive producer Angela Kang, who was promoted into this position. Angela Kang joined in The Walking Dead writing staff in Season 2 as a Story Editor. She then went on to become co-Executive Producer by Season 5 till season 8. In season 9 she will act as showrunner. No pressure.
