Momoko Abe is crowned Miss Universe Japan 2017

The representative of Chiba prefecture Momoko Abe is recently crowned Miss Universe Japan 2017 and will compete at the Miss Universe 2017 finals.

Momoko Abe is 22 years old and has bested 45 other contestants for the crown and title. She was hailed Miss Universe Japan 2017 after competing in bikinis, evening gowns, and speeches. This year’s Miss Universe Japan pageant took place at the Chinzanso Hotel, the venue for four straight years. But for the first time since 2013, the Miss Universe Japan pageant was held separate from the Miss Japan competition.

Momoko Abe is the daughter of TV reporter Yuji Abe and retired celebrity pro-golfer, Masako Abe.

Japan is currently on a decline at Miss Universe but was able to place at Miss Universe 2015 pageant. The country has already won the pageant twice, the last was in 2007 courtesy of Riyo Mori who was victorious in Mexico City.
