Virág Koroknyai was crowned as Miss World Hungary 2017 at the conclusion of Magyarország Szépe or Beauty of Hungary 2017 pageant.

As the new Miss World Hungary 2017, Virág Koroknyai will compete at the Miss World 2017 finals to be held in Sanya, China this December. She was crowned by the outgoing queen, Miss World Hungary 2016 Tímea Gelencsér who managed to place at Miss World 2016 Top 20.

Virag Koroknyai who lives in Budapest, Hungary had to go through series of rounds and rigorous training at the pageant to win the coveted crown. She defeated 15 competitors to emerge as the main winner.

Hungary has never won Miss World crown before. The closest the country came to winning was in 2014 when Edina Kulcsar was crowned as the 1st runner-up at Miss World 2014.
