At the conclusion of Showstars Spain 2017, Elizabeth Ledesma is crowned as Miss International Spain 2017 and will compete in Tokyo, Japan later this year.
Elizabeth is 18 years old and will try to bring home the fourth Miss International crown to Spain. The European country is one of the most successful nations in the Japanese-based pageant.
The first win of Spain was at Miss International 1977 with Pilar Medina, who also won the Best in National Costume award. The victory was followed by Silvia de Esteban at Miss International 1990. The latest victory was pretty recent, with Alejandra Andreu winning the Miss Photogenic and the Miss International 2008 crown.

Spain also had several runner-up placements at Miss International, to wit:
1961 – Maria Del Carmen Fernández, 2nd Runner-up
1973 – Maria Isabel Lorenzo, 2nd Runner-up & Miss Photogenic
1980 – María Agustina García, 2nd Runner-up
1982 – María del Carmen Arqués, 1st Runner-up
1994 – Carmen Maria Vicente, 2nd Runner-up
1999 – Carmen Fernández Ruiz, 1st Runner-up
Aside from this runner-up placements, Spain also had a semi-finals streak from 1982 to 1992 and in 1994 to 1999.
