Is Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k Netflix Approved?

Netflix have their own rules when it comes to streaming and they are very strict about it. Although you might think that your phone settings will do the trick, but you will soon find out that Netflix is not going to work on your mobile phone.

Trying to find a way around this problem will be impossible as Netflix does not allow any camera on their site. They have reason for this and we will discuss why further in this article.

The reason why Netflix is not compatible with Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k is because of the quality of the picture and sound. Netflix have very high standards and they do not accept any lower resolution than what they provide.

The thing is that the Netflix app needs a certain bitrate in order to stream without any problems, and your phone simply cannot handle it. The main reason why it cannot, is because of the screen size and the pixel density.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k has a lot more pixels than your average phone screen, so you can see how complicated things can get here! If you want to get everything working properly on Netflix, you will need a 4K TV or a 4K monitor for starters.

As long as you have one of those two devices, then you should be fine and able to watch anything.

Is The Blackmagic 6k Worth It?

There’s no doubt that the Blackmagic 6k is one of the most exciting cameras to be released in years. It’s an incredibly versatile, full-frame cinema camera with interchangeable lenses, RAW output and a price tag around $3000. This is the cheapest way to get into full-frame cinema shooting on the market right now.

Terrific quality and an amazing price point are all good reasons to jump on board with this camera, but you may be wondering if it’s worth it.

If you take a look at some of the footage that people have gotten out of this camera, it looks like magic. There’s a lot of hype surrounding the Blackmagic 6k, and for good reason.

However, there are also countless questions about how well this camera will perform in various applications, especially when compared to some of its higher-end competition.

So, is the Blackmagic 6k worth it? That depends on what you want from your camera. If you’re an independent filmmaker looking for a cinematic tool that will deliver excellent images at a great price point and you don’t need RAW video recording or 4K resolution then yes, this camera is worth it!

However, if you’re a professional cinematographer or filmmaker who needs 4K resolution.

Can Blackmagic 6k Shoot 4k?

There’s been a great deal of discussion on the internet about the fact that Blackmagic Design’s new 6k Cinema Camera can shoot 4k. There’s a lot of misinformation going around, so I thought I’d put together a quick blog post to clear things up.

TECH SPECS:

The Blackmagic 6k Cinema Camera has a native resolution of 4096 x 2160. When you’re shooting at this resolution, it looks like 4k in your viewfinder and on your monitor (the camera outputs an HD-SDI signal with embedded timecode and audio).

Instead of recording internally at 4096 x 2160, though, you can select one of three different recording resolutions: Full, Half and Quarter.

If you choose Full, the camera will record internally at 2048 x 1080. If you choose Half or Quarter for recording resolution, the camera will record internal at 1024 x 540 or 512 x 270 respectively (which is really just 1/4 and 1/16 of full frame).

Using these different recording resolutions allows you to get more data on the sensor while maintaining an HD-SDI output that matches what you see in your viewfinder. Of course, if you want to record 4k internally to disk, you can do that by choosing a lower.

Can You Take Pictures With Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K?

The Black magic pocket cinema camera 6K has a lot of focus on it and in many cases, people who have purchased it are asking if they can actually take pictures with a Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 6K. Yes, you can take pictures with a Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 6K and here is the proof.

The image above has been shot by a Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 6K using an EF- mount. As you can see, the image quality is pretty good and it is comparable to the other cameras on the market.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera comes with a MFT mount which makes it very easy to take pictures with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K.

If you feel like you might need more reach or would like to get closer to your subject then you might want to consider getting yourself an extender or a teleconverter. The extender that I am using in the above photo is from Fotodiox and it allows me to get even closer to my subject.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K Strengths & Weaknesses

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is a compact 4K video recording device designed to connect with smartphones and tablets.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K allows the user to capture professional quality footage with a tiny, lightweight camera. This is perfect for filmmakers on-the-go or vloggers who want to create high quality videos without lugging around a big camera.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has an impressive number of features for such a small device. It boasts dynamic range of 15 stops, which is much wider than most other cameras. The camera also has a built in microphone, HDMI out, and a headphone jack.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is compatible with both Android and iOS devices through the use of an app called “Pocket Cinema.” This app allows you to control some of the camera’s settings from your smartphone or tablet, as well as view live footage from the camera.

One of the biggest draws to this product is that it can shoot in 4K video resolution at up to 30 frames per second (fps).

It also has 13 stops of dynamic range which gives you more flexibility when editing your footage because there is more room for error and you don’t have to worry about clipping any highlights or shadows.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4k Verdict

What we like

It records 4K video at both 60p and 30p, with the same bitrates as the old Pocket Cinema Camera. And it’s got a full-size HDMI port, so you can actually see what you’re filming, unlike the older model.

You can also shoot 1080p at up to 120fps slow-mo, or 720p at up to 240fps – great for making dramatic time-lapse videos.

It has a standard Micro Four Thirds mount, so you can use pretty much any lens made for that system. There are also two 0.75x crop modes which mimic Super 16 and Super 8 film formats – good news for film fans who want to use their existing lenses.

The build quality of the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4k is excellent, with a sturdy but lightweight magnesium body and chunky handgrip. It’s small enough to carry in a coat pocket or handbag, but big enough to give you a proper grip when using the built-in screen or an external monitor.

The screen itself has been improved from the original version too – it’s brighter and now has touchscreen capabilities.

The menu system has been redesigned too, which makes it much easier to navigate and set up your shots – although.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k Strengths & Weaknesses

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k is a new breed of cinema camera. It’s designed for people who want to start shooting cinematic video without having a huge budget, and it does an incredible job of bringing pro features at a consumer level price.

Description:

The camera has built in SDI and HDMI outputs, as well as Micro Four Thirds lens mount so it can be used with any MFT lens out there, but some MFT lenses are not fully compatible with the camera due to the sensor size.

You can also use speed booster adapters to extend the lens options even further. The camera also has built in mic input and headphone jack.

Strengths:

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k is one of the best value cameras out there, it combines great image quality with a solid build quality and professional controls, all in a very small package.

It has both HDMI and SDI outputs which means you will be able to record amazing footage right away since most monitors support one or the other, but not always both at the same time.

The camera records uncompressed 10 bit 4:2:2 video internally to micro SD cards. This means you will get detailed imagery with a lot more control when post-processing your video files compared to recording compressed video.

Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Verdict

With the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, Blackmagic Design has created something special.

It’s designed to be handheld and not much bigger than a smartphone, despite being a fully professional camera with a Micro Four Thirds sensor and an extremely high-quality codec. The camera can record in 6K, but it can also shoot in 4K DCI at up to 60 frames per second.

The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K is the first of its kind. There’s no other choice if you want to record at this resolution on a mirrorless camera that’s this small and relatively affordable. The build quality is excellent and the touchscreen interface is intuitive.

The menus aren’t always easy to navigate, but that can be overcome with practice.

That said, there are some downsides. You’ll need to keep your audio levels down to avoid clipping distortion when recording in 6K, while there’s no image stabilization option when shooting in this mode either.

The menu system could also be improved, although once you get used to it it isn’t too bad. It’s also worth noting that you’ll need to buy an additional battery since there isn’t one included with the camera itself.

Overall, though, the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K is impressive.

Why Choose Blackmagic Cameras?

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name Blackmagic? For many, it is Cinema Cameras. For others, it is DaVinci Resolve.

Still for others, it is the Pocket Cinema Camera. But the real question is: What did you think of first?

There is a reason I asked this question: because Blackmagic Design have so much more to offer than just these three categories–which are all amazing products, by the way.

Blackmagic has been making huge strides in a number of other segments of the video production industry, and they continue to push boundaries with their incredible technology.

The truth is, Blackmagic Design is one of those companies that could really use a rebranding. Just look at how many cameras there are for sale under the Blackmagic banner:

And that’s not even everything! The list goes on and on. These cameras range from professional cinema cameras (like their URSA Mini Pro) to their famous pocket camera and everything in between.

They even have 4K monitors and converters! It can be overwhelming to choose which product suits your needs best when you have so many choices–but that’s why we’re here!

I’ve used three different Blackmagic cameras throughout my career.
