This film is based on a true story of Africans who rebelled against their captors and took over the slave ship Amistad.

This was during an era when slavery was legal in America. In 1839 there was a mutiny aboard the boat which resulted in many deaths and eventually led to a trial for murder that ended with freedom for all involved.

The 1997 Steven Spielberg directed film, Amistad tells the true story of an 1839 rebellion aboard a Spanish slaver that was transporting 57 Africans to be sold as slaves.

The movie is about both sides of slavery and race relations and how they are intertwined with one another.

The Sugarland Express (1974)

The Sugarland Express (1974) is a crime film starring Goldie Hawn and William Atherton.

Lou-Jean wants to reunite her family and convinces her husband to escape from prison. They decide to kidnap their child from his foster home. All hell breaks loose when they take a cop hostage.

The Sugarland Express was filmed on location in Texas; it features real-life railroad workers as extras and even some train footage is used in the opening sequence with no special effects or model work required.

He is a citizen of the fictional country of Krakozhia. The movie takes place over a period of several months during which time Navorski tries to find ways to keep himself occupied while living out an airport terminal.

It’s not an easy life as many people are rude and some even abusive toward him but he manages to make friends and enjoy what little company he can get from those around him.
