Mulk Movie takes up the issue of current India, where Muslims are being beaten daily in the name of patriotism. Set in holiest city in India, Banaras, UP, Murad Ali Muhammed (Rishi Kapoor) is a respected man who has a hindu daugjter in law named Arti (Taapsee Pannu). All people live happily with each other despite their religions. Things take u turn when younger boy in the family is killed for plotting terrorist attack in the city. Whole blame comes upon the Murad for harboring terrorist and he is arrested by police. With hate coming from every direction, his daughter in law Arti takes the stand to clear her father in law’s name and bring respect to him once again.
