Bios:
Kara Zor-El is the cousin of Kal-El (Superman). She was sent to Earth to protect baby Kal-El as Krypton was doomed. But, her pod was stuck in the phantom zone, so when she got to Earth, Kal-El was already an adult. Thus, changing who was older.
Carol Danvers was a truly inspiring woman before her powers as she was involved in several military occupations. She got her powers by being exposed to an explosion which Captain Marvel shielded her from. When he did this, she absorbed some of his genes. Then, this made her genes perfect for pairing both Kree and human DNA which resulted in her gaining her extraordinary abilities.
Powers/Abilities:
Supergirl has all of the abilities that Superman has. This includes: flight, super breath, super hearing, x-ray vision, super speed, super strength, heat vision, bulletproof/invulnerability, and super healing.
Ms. Marvel shares some of these powers, but is also very different. Her powers are: super strength, super speed, flight, energy absorption and projection, danger sense, and regeneration.
Verdict: Ms. Marvel Wins!
Most of you probably would say that Supergirl would take the crown for this fight. But, since their powers are nearly identical, you need to start looking at their weaknesses. Supergirl's weakness if Kryptonite, just like Superman, due to the fact that she is Kryptonian. Ms. Marvel, on the other hand, does not have a prime weakness. Her weaknesses are minor and will not really affect her in a fight against Supergirl. So, since there is always a slight possibility of Kyrptonite being brought into play, no matter how unfair that would be, Ms. Marvel would win this fight because of her identical powers and abilities.
