Nintendo Announces Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!

Last night Nintendo revealed the long-rumored Switch titles Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!. The twin titles will be developed by GAME FREAK, the same studio in behind the main-line Pokémon games. During the announcement Nintendo promoted Pokémon Go integration, in addition to some major gameplay changes. For more details, check out the trailer below:

One of the major changes to the Pokémon formula is the option to throw poke balls via motion controls. The Poké Ball Plus, a new peripheral to be released alongside the Pokémon Let’s Go games was designed to enhance the experience of throwing a poke ball.

The Poké Ball Plus has an estimated 3-hour lifespan, allowing it to serve a function similar to the Pokéwalker released with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver which allowed players to take their Pokémon on the go. Pricing for the device has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo, but placeholder listings on some retail sites point to the Poké Ball Plus being rather pricey.

Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! will launch alongside the Poké Ball Plus on November 16, 2018.
