Vancouver Community College (VCC) offers a multitude of programs and its banner: THE VCC EFFECT is evident in all of them, Go to their annual fund raiser: FlOURISH, (supporting scholarships and bursaries to help Students flourish)  and you will see past and present Students, entertaining, hosting, cooking, engine building, making music, doing hair, make up and health care, designing jewelry, and so much more. And then, there is FASHION). This interview with Shadi Arasteh Minesh, a few seasons ago, further shows how Students contribute their skills to the Flourish Fundraiser, and also share their VCC Education with the community. The complete package is here: advertising and marketing, videos to accompany each collection, concept development (what is your brand and who will wear it) the sewing construction techniques, the designer team building and finally the days of practise and presentation for the runway show at Vancouver Fashion Week. I believe this experience gives Students the opportunity to show their work to local and international audiences and to see other Designers collections. VCC Fashion continues to set an imaginative, inspirational tone for entire evening, each time the team shows. VCC Fashion Program Co-ordinator, Sarah Murray is not only an excellent emcee, but also looks fabulous in Student Designed outfits. And, in the reel I made, you can see Vcc President, Ajay Patel, in the front row!
