It comes as new data shows islands are seeing a strong travel resurgence, as research confirms most Aussies (83%) are opting for holidays that involve little planned activity, with 74% planning to do so internationally—perfect for laid-back island living*.

1. Fiji – Top of the list is the South Pacific Island nation of Fiji. Just a direct flight away from many parts of Australia, Fiji is the ultimate, all-rounder island holiday. Renowned for its warm hospitality and breathtaking natural beauty, it’s no longer a spot reserved just for young families, with accommodation interest continuing to soar upwards to almost 55% in the last year.* Boasting incredible resorts, many with all-inclusive offerings, Fiji provides a wide range of experiences perfect for groups, couples, and multigenerational families alike.

2. Okinawa, Japan – Japan is booming in popularity, and Aussies are using their time in the country to explore beyond the major cities, including Okinawa, with accommodation interest up over 270%.* Often referred to as the Hawaii of Japan, the island boasts pristine beaches and a warm year-round climate that offers a unique blend of Japanese and Ryukyuan culture.
