We’ve complied two adventure-packed itineraries on how to discover Milford Sound and Queenstown this winter:
THE TWO DAY BUCKET-LIST-BUSTER
Friday night: Leave work early, wrap up in your winter woollies and fly to Queenstown for a Friday night drink at one of the town’s many cosy, laneway bars.
Saturday: Time to see the eighth wonder of the world! Sit back and relax while we take you to Milford Sound on our all-inclusive Coach & Cruise day trip.
Then make most of the experience with a scenic flight back to Queenstown or return on our comfortable coach in time for a delicious lakefront dinner.
Sunday: Ease into your morning on Spirit of Queenstown Scenic Cruise and see why the best views of Queenstown’s alpine scenery are from the lake. Then head out on an exhilarating KJet Jet boat ride to see the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers, all before the last flight out of Queenstown.

THE THREE DAY TRIP-FOR-TWO
Saturday: Prepare for some quality time together on the road to Milford Sound! The five hour drive from Queenstown is one to be savoured; you’ll meander through a jaw-dropping showcase of snow-capped mountains, towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Once you arrive, check-in to your premium Riverside Chalet at Milford Sound Lodge and unwind to the quiet sounds of an ancient rainforest.
Sunday: The early bird catches the worm! See the fiord during its calmest time on our 9.45am Cruise and Kayak package. Including our small boat cruise, guided kayaking trip and underwater observatory visit, the experience is fun, personal and informative. You’ll get back to shore after a tasty lunch and in time to drive back to Queenstown in daylight.
Monday: Sleep in before an 11.00am start on the Station 2 Station Cycle Trail. You’ll cruise across Lake Wakatipu on Spirit of Queenstown, before enjoying a slice of high country farm life at Mt Nicholas Station and a gentle 14km scenic bike ride to neighbouring Walter Peak Station. Return to Queenstown on the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw before toasting your partner to an active and adventurous long weekend away!
