Hawaii travel news: July 14, 2021

– Please don’t make the news for what these folks did for disturbing endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals. These seals don’t come to the shoreline to be petted or for selfies. They come there to rest! If you are lucky enough to see a monk seal in Hawaii, please keep a distance of at least 50 feet or 16 meters. (Read our article about these seals here.)

– A lot of people must be “missing the boat” to the USS Arizona Memorial. We’ve seen repeated messages from Pearl Harbor National Memorial social media channels. If you’re planning to visit this memorial, see this post and check the national park’s Facebook page for updates and advice.
