I find Bollywood movies to be similar to magic shows- even while I am sitting on a sofa at home or on a seat in the cinema hall, the movies magically transport me to spectacular locations across the world. It often happens to me that if I watch a beautifully Filmed Song, I get struck with wanderlust. I feel this urgent need to travel to that location, strike a pose and share it with the world!

Located on the outskirts of Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza proved to be a mesmerizing backdrop to the beautifully romantic song Teri Ore from the rom-com movie Singh Is Kinng. These three 4th dynasty pyramids can be found on the west bank of the Nile River.

Melbourne- Australia's hub of style, culture, food and sports. The essence of this vibrant city has been accurately captured in the song My Dil Goes Mmmm. A mixed bag of delights, Melbourne went right at the top of my wanderlust wishlist after watching Salaam Namaste.

3. Satrangi Re, Dil Se- Ladakh:

The sizzling chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala could be captured perfectly only because of the lonesome locales the song was filmed at. Dramatic and picturesque locales of Ladakh, namely, the Pangong Lake, the Thiksey Monastery and the Basgo Gompa were used during the filming of this song.
4. Tumhi Ho Bandhu, Cocktail- Cape Town:
The upbeat song Tumhi Ho Bandhu became a friendship anthem and almost every party in town had it blaring from the speakers while the crowds went crazy. A multicultural city, Cape Town has it all- soaring mountains, magnificent golden beaches, picturesque vineyards and denizens who are warm and welcoming.

I find Bawdis (stepwells) to be architecturally very spectacular, their intricate layouts fascinate me. In the romantic fantasy movie Paheli, these stepwells have been picturized gorgeously.
6. Gerua, Dilwale- Iceland:

Nikli hai dil se ye duaa, Rang de tu mohe Gerua... The first time I saw this song, I fell in love with the concept of love itself! The beauty of SRK and Kajol’s romance was matched only by the exquisiteness of Iceland.
7. Piya Haji Ali, Fiza- Haji Ali, Mumbai:
The mesmeric Sufi song Piya Haji Ali puts me in a trance. It has fantastic music, soul touching lyrics and has been superbly filmed within and outside the Haji Ali Dargah located in Mumbai.

8. Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge- Gstaad, Switzerland:

A part of the song Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main was shot at the main promenade of Gstaad. A quaint and charming village in western Switzerland, Gstaad is a popular winter sports destination and is also a place to spot your favourite celebrity.

9. Le Gayi Dil Gudiya Japan Ki, Love In Tokyo- Tokyo:

Giving us hauntingly beautiful shots of Tokyo, le gayi dil gudiya Japan ki along with another infamous song from the same movie called Sayonara sayonara, makes you want to leave everything you are doing and book your flight tickets to the land of the rising sun!
10. Khwabon Ke Parindey, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara- Seville, Spain:

An out and out road trip movie about three friends discovering themselves, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was filmed all across the fascinating country of Spain. The soothing and inspirational song Khwabon Ke Parindey was shot on the road leading towards the historical city of Seville.

11. Tu Bin Bataye, Rang De Basanti- Mughal Sarai, Doraha, Ludhiana:
A picnic spot near Ludhiana, the Mughal Sarai, Doraha is a dilapidated Mughal era caravan sarai. It is here that R. Madhavan’s character proposes to Soha Ali Khan’s character in the movie Rang De Basanti. And it was here that an entire generation got a new romantic song to hum- Tu bin bataye, mujhe le chal kahi...

The energetic city of Sydney played host to this song. Who can forget the stunning views one gets of the city during the song when Akash and Shalini hop on a helicopter tour?

I must confess, I fell in love with Shah Rukh Khan (even more), Sonu Nigam (for his voice) and the Sin City of Las Vegas (for its vivaciousness) after watching this song. The director beautifully captured the lead belle Ganga's isolation along with how awe inspired she is with the sheer magnitude of the city.
14. Ye Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum, Silsila- Keukenhof, Netherlands:

The soulful song of ye kahaan aa gaye hum was filmed in one of the most beautiful spring gardens in the world- Keukenhof. Spread across 32 hectares, the garden is home to over seven million tulips, hyacinths and daffodils.

This emotional and beautifully filmed song was shot across various captivating locales in Turkey. In the video of the song, one can spot Denizli, the Aspendos Theatre and the Temple of Apollo. This song is one of the reasons why Turkey is now on my travel wishlist.

Cute- there’s no other way to describe this lovely song. When a mute and deaf Barfi shows his love interest Shruti around town, this song plays in the background brilliantly capturing his emotions. The song has been filmed partially in Darjeeling and partially in Ooty.

Directed by Shakti Samanta, Kashmir Ki Kali magnificently captured the essence of Kashmir- more so in the song taareef karu kyaa uskee, jisne tumhe banaayaa.. which was filmed in a shikara on Dal Lake.
