5. The Great Reno Balloon Race

The Great Reno Balloon Race is the big daddy of all hot air balloon races in the nation. Taking off in 1982 with 20 balloons, it today witnesses the flight of more than 100 balloons each year with about 140,000 visitors a year. One of their coolest features includes a Balloon Blackjack competition where pilots try to navigate the balloons over a giant pack of playing cards and bean bags are thrown from the basket to try to hit 21³.
