The splashy night spot is up and pulsating at Palms Casino Resort

The Rock & Rock Hall of Famer is creating waves with the opening Friday night of the splashy Sammy’s Island at Palms Casino Resort on Friday night. The music was pumping and the beach vibes were booming throughout Sammy's self-created tropical oasis.
Accompanied by longtime bandmates Michael Anthony and Vic Johnson, Hagar surprised the thousands of fans who attended the party as he bounded onto the stage during a set by tribute band, Red Voodoo.

Sammy sings his songs
Hagar, aka the “Red Rocker,” belted out hits “Your Love is Driving Me Crazy” and “There’s Only One Way to Rock,” while guests sipped on tropical cocktails made with Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum at the Tiki Bar and savored margaritas featuring Santo Tequila at the Tequileria. Buckets on ice carried cans of Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktails and Hagar’s new Red Rocker Lager by Red Rocker Brewing Co., which made its Nevada debut at the party.
A whole lot of jamming will be going on
In the immortal spirit of rock ‘n’ roll, the Sammy’s Island stage will host a series of live All-Star Jam performances throughout the summer. They includes All-Star Jam: Hosted by SIXWIRE on Saturday, July 20, headlined by Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath and Matt Scanell from Vertical Horizon, along with The Rembrandts and Emerson Hart. No stranger to the hospitality world, Hagar has a booming business portfolio includes the original Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabos San Lucas, home to the rocker’s legendary annual Birthday Bash celebrations, Cabo Wabo Beach Club in Huntington Beach--which celebrates its one-year anniversary in May.
There's also Cabo Wabo Cantina on the Las Vegas Strip; which celebrates its 15-year anniversary later this year; and Sammy’s Beach Bar and Grills in Cleveland, Maui, Honolulu and Las Vegas airports.
A cool dude's pool
My husband and I have met and partied with Sammy a couple of times in the past, once in Cabo and also in Maui. He's is one cool dude. Very thoughtful and of course talented. We wish him much success with his new Vegas endeavor. It should go gang busters with the Palms Pool new, reimagined look. The redesign throbs with Hagar’s signature Baja beach vibe imprinted on everything from his premium spirits and food to the live music series. It also features design elements and fabric patterns highlighted in each of the Hager-themed Red Rocker Bungalows.
If standing-room-only crowds and rave reviews are any indicator, Sammy’s Island is destined to be another hit for Hagar, who has crafted an entire industry encompassing restaurants and spirits from his lifelong passion for great food, music and spirits.
On the menu
Customers can enjoy summer-style cocktails such as the Maui-jito made with Sammy’s Beach Bar rum and the Cabo-rita made with Santo Blanco tequila, Cointreau and fresh lime sour. Poolside eats include the Beach Club burger made with Wagyu beef topped with grilled poblano and poblano-lime aioli and served on a brioche bun; and Red Rocker mahi mahi tacos topped with lime crema, cilantro, pickled onions and pico de gallo.
Sammy's Island, by Palms Pool at Palms Casino Resort at 4321 W. Flamingo Rd. it is now open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout pool season. During daytime operations, hotel guests of all ages are welcome. An adult must accompany children under 18, and non-hotel guests and locals must be 21+.
Free cabanas for locals
Back by popular demand, Palms Pool is again offering free cabanas for locals Monday - Thursday. Sammy’s Island will host Swimdustry Mondays with DJ entertainment from noon to 5 p.m. every Monday. It’s Ladies First on Fridays with $100 cabanas, a complimentary glass of champagne for ladies entering between 10 a.m. - noon, DJ entertainment, and cocktail packages. Sunkissed Saturdays features DJ Rick Gee, interactive entertainment, and family-friendly games. On Sunday, enjoy Island Vybez with live bands and refreshing drink specials.
