Bring the kids, dogs and yourself to this run/walk/bike event

It's been happening for 46 years. Chinatown Firecracker 5K/10K Run/1K Kiddie & PAW’er Dog Run/Walk & 19/50-Mile Bike Ride — one of the largest and oldest running races in the U.S. with its upcoming Lunar New Year run, walk, cycling and dog walk events held over the weekend of February 24-25, 2024, at the historic Los Angeles Chinatown Plaza.
Year of the Dragon
You will need to register for the Year of the Dragon celebration. All registered participants receive a commemorative 2024 Firecracker race bib, exclusive collectible finisher’s medal, and a limited edition t-shirt. Fido gets a bone too. Paw’er Dogs receive their own commemorative Firecracker t-shirt), goody bag, and much more.
Every registered participants 21+ years of age id also eligible for one complimentary beer at the Beer Garden. In addition, participants and their guests will enjoy the Lunar New Year Celebration in the heart of historic Chinatown with an opening ceremony filled with lion dancers and the traditional lighting of 100,000 firecrackers. The Firecracker festival includes vendors and booths. The 46th Annual Firecracker has been approved as a 2024 USATF Sanctioned Event.
About the event
The annual L.A. Chinatown Firecracker is produced by the nonprofit L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Run Committee (LACFRC), a group of volunteers who donate their time and energy to organize and stage events and programs promoting healthy lifestyles, fitness, cultural awareness to the greater Los Angeles community. All proceeds are reinvested in the community and surrounding areas in support of elementary schools and other non-profit organizations, providing service and programs.
