Cannabis & Cinema/Mendocino Film Festival provides a pairing -of pot and pictures - and the 16th Annual Mendocino Film Festival puts a spotlight on both with Weed & Wine, a feature documentary interweaving a Southern Rhone French vinicultural family and Humboldt organic cannabis farm family struggling with similar issues. The 2nd Annual Mendocino Craft Farmers Auction puts cannabis at its core with a live and silent auction including farm tours, exotic vacations and artwork coupled with a day of play with the county’s award-winning small batch craft cannabis farmers. This one-of-a-kind real deal is set in a lush 10-acre ancient redwood forest surrounded by brooks and fairy circles. Local wines, an old-fashioned “cigarette girl” offering freshly rolled joints and elegant supper cap the day, with proceeds directed to Mendocino Land Trust and the Cancer Resource Center of Mendocino County. Along the Cannabis Trail of Northern California, Ukiah’s Plantshop steps up every Friday with resins, batter and butter… as a variety of vendors takeover the lively half-acre Consumption Lounge backed with music and cotton-candy sunsets. A full cannabis bar serving pre-rolls, cannabis-infused drinks and concentrates round out the experience. The June 10 two-year anniversary party also promises to build a buzz.
