Violence erupts near 'heavenly' Halekulani Hotel

The incident happened along a walkway we've strolled many times both day and night. But, Eturbonews reported that on Friday night at 10 o'clock a 25-year-old man was
shot at the intersection of Kalakaua Avenue and Lewers--a stone's throw from the hotel and Waikiki Beach.
Not the first time this happened apparently
Surprisingly to me, anyway, the article stated that this type deadly violence that has become a repeat threat to Hawaii’s Travel and Tourism industry. It went to say, "The Hawaii Tourism Authority, the Honolulu Mayors’ Office, and the Honolulu Police Department remain unresponsive to questions about the shooting."
It also reported that, "according to social media postings, 20 shots were fired, and two armed suspects fled by car; and that Honolulu Emergency Medical Services brought the victim, who is in critical condition to the hospital."
The new norm?
We are definitely experiencing a new age where violence has become a normal occurrence around the country and the world. But Hawaii! And in such a serene setting.
