Airbus A330 hit severe turbulence before landing in Honolulu

Just what someone who flies to Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines doesn't want to hear. Earlier yesterday (Dec. 18) a Hawaiian Airlines Plane that took off in Phoenix encountered severed turbulence causing unbelted passengers to fly out of their seats with some hitting the ceiling.
HA fight 35 from Phoenix, with 278-passengers and 10 crew aboard, was about 30 minutes from landing at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, when it was hit by severed and unexpected turbulence while at an altitude of 36,000 feet.
Wear your seat belt folks
Although the seat belt lights were on, some some of the injured were not strapped in ergo it caused them to be lifted from their seats.
The pilots declared an emergency when the plane was close to its descent to alert grounds people who were there to greet the craft and tend to the injured.
This is a very unusual occurrence for Hawaiian Airlines. But then Mother Nature is never predictable. Keep your seat belts fastened at all times. I always keep mine loosely around my body during flight and tighten it during turbulence or landings.
