It was pretty scary for the massive crowd sailing on a Carnival Legend Alaska cruise last month when all of a sudden water was flooding over the pool and the Ship titled way to one side. Passengers screamed and panicked as the 88,500 gross ton, 2,124-Passenger vessel titled sharply to one side. It was certainly an adventure that the passengers hadn't banked on.
Videos show terrified passengers grabbing poles to steady themselves. Others held on to each other for dear life as plates crashed down on the kitchen floor.
(While passengers triedto spread out to balance out the ship they actually shifted the balance of weight to turn the ship upright).
Carnival said that the “Carnival Legend experienced a technical issue related to the ship's starboard steering gear which caused the ship to unexpectedly list about eight degrees.” They also said the “issue was rapidly corrected and the ship proceeded to its scheduled stop” and the “ship has been operating since that times without any issues.”

The Legend is now carrying on cruises as usual.
