All the best Christmas movies you can’t miss

The closer it gets to Christmas, the more families get together in front of the TV to share a cup of hot cocoa while watching holiday oldies like “Home Alone”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “A Christmas Carol”. This is the tradition that never gets old, right? I’ve been watching Christmas classics so many times, that I may assure you that I remember most of the lines now. At some point, I was willing to discover something new, something that would be a good option for cozy evenings this time of the year.
And while “Home Alone” is a must watch, I decided to share my list of holiday movies that you may enjoy as well.
1) Get Santa (2014)
I watched it just recently on Netflix and liked it a lot:  British-based movie that shows how difficult it gets for father and son to rescue Santa and find his reindeer. The concept is very interesting for adults and kids since no matter what age we are, we want Christmas to happen and Santa to bring joy and miracle to the children all over the world. So let’s spend some enjoying some good British-based humor.

2) The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
Calling all the Netflix people! I am peculiar when choosing what to watch during the holiday season. I love good old classics, but this movie really surprised me!
The Christmas adventure of siblings Teddy and Kate that plan to catch Santa Claus on camera that turned into unexpected every kid’s dreamed journey. This movie adds a fresh modern twist to a good old Christmas story. So, grab a blanket and a cup of hot cocoa and prepare to be amazed!
3) The Polar Express (2004)
Was I the only one who never watched it before? I love love love it! It became a new Christmas classic for me and ever since I watched for the first time, I have it on my “watch list” every year. It touches your soul through the story of the boy, who did not believe in Christmas and one day got a ticket for a train ride to the North Pole. Friendship, bravery, miracles, Christmas spirit and much more! Take two hours of your life to watch it and believe!

4) Arthur Christmas (2011)
Let’s be honest: one can’t find too many really good animated Christmas movies now. Well, this one is one of a kind: it answers every child’s question “How can Santa deliver all the presents in one night?” The answer is shown in a very modern, interesting for all ages way. Be ready to see the army of one million elves, Santa’s family and what happens when one kid is about to be left without a present.

 5) Love Actually (2003)
This is the movie I watch every year. It combines the simplicity of life, love stories of eight different couples and all just around Christmas. This is one of those movies that don’t require a special mood to watch because the plot is very interesting, and I am sure everyone finds something familiar in those stories. Let me be honest – I will probably watch around Valentine’s Day as well

6) The Family Stone (2005)
Do you remember the time when you met the family of your boyfriend/girlfriend for the first time? Do you remember how nervous you were and all the feelings you had? If you do, then this movie is definitely must watch for you: a conservative businesswoman accompanies her boyfriend to a Christmas celebration with his big family. Let’s see how the leading actress  Sarah Jessica Parker can handle it.;)

7) Love the Coopers (2015)
There is nothing better than the time when all the family gets together for holidays. As four generations of Coopers family start Christmas Eve celebration, a serious of events turn the evening upside down. Because no matter how carefully planned it is, you never know what can happen and who you can possibly meet over a holiday meal.

8) The Holiday (2006)
Have you ever wanted to pack your bags and just go somewhere you’ve never been before? Well, I did. This romantic comedy shows what happens when two troubled with guy-problems women swap homes. But not just homes. Countries! Curious about what happens next? Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz will show you.;)

9) A Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
Christmas is all about Santa, right? And what about those who don’t believe in him? The movie tells the story of a little girl Susan, who was told that Santa Claus was not real, but still wanted to believe that wasn’t true. So after drunk Santa is fired from the Thanksgiving parade, an old man named Kris is hired to replace him. He works so hard to not only bring holiday spirit to people of New York but also to restore belief in Santa Clause in Susan’s and her mom’s hearts.

10) The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
The creation of talented Tim Burton shows an extraordinary world where every night is a Halloween night. I should admit that I watch it after Christmas as well.;) The Nightmare Before Christmas is a story of two dreamers, brought together by the holiday spirit. This musical film is full of magic and a strong attempt of the main character Jack Skellington for Christmas to happen in his world. And if you like Tim Burton’s work as much as I do, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

11) Deck the Halls (2006)
A time before Christmas is the busiest time of the year, so when you come home all you want is forget about all the worries and watch something that would make you laugh and forget about busy day. This American family comedy film shows how competitive two neighbors can be in order to have the best holiday light displays at any cost. For me this movie never gets old: I still laugh at the things that made me smile last year. So what actually happens when two absolutely different people become men on a mission? This is kind of movies that make you want to get all the family together in front of the TV and enjoy.

12) Fred Claus (2007)
Have you ever wondered if there was Christmas celebration in Santa’s family? When I was a kid I had no idea that Santa had siblings. That is why I was surprised to see that Santa’s big brother Fred is coming back to the North Pole under one condition: he has to work off his debt making toys. How is the black ship of the family who used to steal and end up in jail going to handle it? Will he change his habits or Christmas will be ruined?

 13) Grumpy Old Men (1993)
I am really into old movies. Besides, who doesn’t like a good laugh? “Grumpy Old Men” is an American romantic comedy-drama film featuring a lifelong feud between two childhood friends who live on the same street. The events take place around Christmas time after a new female neighbor moves across the street.

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Holidays! What is your favorite Christmas movie?;)
