Google Assistant is Google’s virtual assistant. It is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices. Google Assistant is an evolution of Google Now. But unlike Google Now the assistant is able to engage in two-way conversation. Google Assistant was unveiled on May 18, 2016 during Google’s developer conference. As a result of further development in May 2018. Google presented Duplex. It is an extension of Google Assistant which allows it to carry out natural conversations by mimicking human voice. However Duplex is under further development and yet to arrive for general uses.

1. Google Assistant is developed in such a way that it has the ability to make the phone call on behalf of its user. Users could also use the assistant to book appointments and make other similar arrangements. This revolutionary feature though already announced is yet to arrive.
2. Google Duplex, an extension of the Assistant, is a new technology for having natural conversations to carry out the “real world” tasks over the phone. In this, the system makes the conversational experience as natural as possible, enabling people to speak normally without adapting to a machine.
3. Among the many new additions, six new voices are coming to Google assistant. Features will also include the “pretty please” feature which is to teach kids to say “please” and “thank you” to their Google-Assistant equipped device. This feature is said to assist in developing good manners in children.
4. Compatibility of Google Assistant at present is with over 5000 home devices. Furthermore, Google aims to expand the assistant’s reach through inclusions of more than 30 languages, spread across 80 countries by the year-end.
5. Google Assistant on iOS and Android phones can now send and request money using a single command. When a user gives the command, Google will then send the recipient a Google Pay notification, text message or email. Thereafter one can finalize the transfer. This feature of Google Assistant is also under development and will arrive in future updated versions.
