Being the fifth largest state in the whole Asia, Saudi Arabia is the only nation in the world with both a Red Sea coast and Persian Gulf coast. Amongst the largest oil and gas producers and exporters in the world, it is visited by thousands of tourists from all over the globe. Take a look at some interesting tourist locations in Saudi Arabia:

Mecca

Regarded as one of the holiest cities in the religion of Islam, Mecca is visited by thousands of pilgrims during the period of Hajj. Due to a mixture of different ethnicities, Mecca is by far one of the most cosmopolitan Islamic cities highlighting the traditional Islam with a modern touch.

Riyadh

A home to more than 6 million people, Riyadh is the capital and most populous city of the Saudi Arabia. Located in the center of the Arabian Peninsula, there are several historical architectures including Masmak Fort, Kingdom Tower, Burj Rafal, Burj Al Faisaliyah and Riyadh TV Tower. Also, there is The Royal Saudi Air Force Museum that showcases the aviation and aircraft related items.

Jeddah

A major urban center of western Saudi Arabia, Jeddah is a crucial commercial hub in the region. If we look at the historic collections in the city, there are several museums including Jeddah Regional Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, the Nasseef House, the Humane Heritage Museum,  the private Arts Heritage Museum, etc.

Medina

Known as the radiant city, Medina is home to the mosque of Prophet, al-Masjid an-Nabawi which is the burial place of the prophet. After Mecca, Medina is considered to be the second-most holiest cities of the Islamic religion. The three oldest mosques including  Quba Mosque, al-Masjid an-Nabawi,  and Masjid al-Qiblatayn are located in this city.
