What’s happening in Taipei: April Edition

Dear Taipei,

Woah, Woah, woah- hold up, Taipei. I don’t know what’s going on with you in April- but you’re certainly showing a different side to yourself. The events that are popping up for the month are… shall we say… quite unique. I hand-picked 5 Taipei events to check out this April in my monthly roundup of Taipei events for Travelog which exemplifies this perfectly. Click here to read all the fun things you can get up to this month.

You’re not holding back- are you? I mean, there’s a frikken pillow fight at Chiang Kai Shek. Pirate Fest at Waiao (yeah, I had way too much fun writing in pirate speak!). A chance to get your taco fetish tickled at the Taco Festival, and a chance to work it all off at the 20K obstacle course run by Challenge Taipei.  Don’t forget about the party happening on Tiger Mountain, run by the same guys who threw the insanely good Tiger Mountain Ramble This is not usual, people!

Not that I’m complaining- I for one welcome the opportunity to act like a complete weirdo in pirate gear and get Taco shells all over me and not be judged too harshly.

I think the fact that there are these awesome individuals living here that have these crazy ideas they put into action is reason enough to think “this city is something else”.

Since moving here a year ago, I have realised that Taipei is certainly a city to cater to a wide range of niches.

Before, I wasn’t holding my breath for a superhero themed pizza eating contest, but you know what, this month has given me hope. I’m going to keep believing.

Thanks for keeping the dream alive, Taipei.
