What’s Happening in Taipei: February Events

Below you’ll find a mix of 15 interesting events to head to this February in Taipei.

Dear Taipei,

We made it through the first month, and now we’re onto the second!

If you’re looking for some entertaining things to do to fill the time this February in Taipei, check out this hand-picked selection of events!

There’s 15 events to catch which are focused on art, music, food, wine, sports, charity, and everything in between!

敬您!為每一個努力之人 —— 2018無家者人權尾牙 (February 3, 5, 6, 7, 8)

I recently met with and wrote an article about a fantastic grassroots organization called Do You a Flavor that aims to help provide some relief to the homeless with good food and conversation. This month, they’re organising a special series of events to reign in Chinese New Year. The events aim to provide both support and enjoyment to the homeless around Taipei Main Station. Taiwan Open (Until February 4)

Catch the last couple of days of the Taiwan Open, an event which brings in more than 40 of the world’s top professional female tennis players to compete in singles and doubles tournaments. Learn more here.

Lunar New Year’s Market (Until February 14)

One of my most memorable cultural experiences in Taipei thus far was visiting the incredibly entertaining Lunar New Year’s Market. During the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year, Dihua Street in Taipei’s Datong District becomes packed to the brim, as thousands of locals pack the street to buy all assortment of food and new year’s goods. The International Book Exhibition (February 6 – 11)

If you always have a book in hand and are perpetually on the hunt for the next hit read, this event was made for you. The International Book Exhibition is a ginormous and popular book exhibition featuring book stalls, author meets, and talks. Learn more here.


2018 Bar Surfing Warmer (February 7 – 12)

This bar surfing event is your ticket to discovering some of Taipei’s newest and most unique bars. Learn more here.


Rock the Mic USA 2018 (February 8)
